My friend, Jen, convinced me to try FabFitFun last year, and I decided “why not, I’ve got birthday money to burn”. So four boxes later (one every season), it’s time for me to decide if I want to renew my FabFitFun subscription. Is FabFitFun worth it? Let’s break down my most recent box and decide!

FabFitFun Membership Options
Annual Membership (a.k.a. “Select Members). You pay $179.99 (+ tax) up front, for a full year’s worth of boxes (a total of four boxes, one each season). Select Members get early access to all customization options, and “edit sales”, which FabFitFun runs throughout the year. These “edit sales” allow you to shop a variety of products at a great discount, and then you add them to your subscription box at NO additional shipping charge. Select Members also have MORE customization options for each box. Select member’s boxes also ship earlier. So there’s perks, baby!
Seasonal Membership. You pay $49.99 (+ tax) per box, and FabFitFun will email you about 1-2 weeks ahead of when you’ll be charged for the next season’s box to see if you want to cancel. If you get a box and decide you love it and want to upgrade to an annual membership, FabFitFun provides you with instructions on how to do so! As you can see, there’s a $20 savings if you pay for all four boxes up front. If you’re not ready to commit to the annual option, but still want to give it a whirl, you can CLICK HERE to use my $10 off coupon! When you use my coupon, I get shop credit with FabFitFun for future sales.
FabFitFun Spring 2019 Box Contents ($278.99 Value For My Selections)
As a select member (someone who paid for a whole year’s worth of boxes up front) I get early access to customization and I get a few more customization options than those who are just buying boxes one at a time. I will break things down by customization category: in every box, all members, and select members. And I should note, you always have the option to be 100% surprised! I know a few people who prefer NOT customizing. Oh, and I want to note that these are all FULL SIZED products, not sample sizes!
In Every Box ($92 Value for Spring 2019):
First, every box comes with a little FabFitFun magazine. The most important thing in the magazine is the breakdown of what’s in your box! This is what I’ll be using to pull descriptions and prices. In the Spring 2019 box, the three products that were included in every box totaled $92 – so you’re already getting almost double the value of what you paid for the box!
OUAI Leave in Conditioner ($26 value). “It works to smooth, soften, and detangle hair with moisturizing properties and enhance heat protection”. I’ve used this once so far! It smells nice, and I definitely noticed a difference in how soft my hair was the next day. I have really thick hair, so a leave in conditioner is always something I use – this brand may become my new go-to!
Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More, No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel ($42 value). “Visibly reduce the look of under-eye bags and dark circles with this breakthrough solution”. So I’ve also tried this once, and it was really weird to see the orange colored gel come out of the tube! But then I read the magazine that comes with the box, describing all the products, and the tip on this one was “Don’t be afraid of the salmon shade – it’s meant to color correct dark circles.” Sooo I wouldn’t have been as freaked out if I’d read first LOL. Verdict is still out on this, since I’ve only used it once, but I’ll report back!
Manna Kadar Champagne Body Scrub ($24 value). “Formulated with charcoal and Dead Sea minerals, the luxe and gentle body scrub removes dirt for polished, hydrated, and refreshed skin”. I LOVE a good body scrub, and the tub of this stuff is HUGE. Not only is it a really big tub, but it smells yummmyyy. I can’t wait to try it out!
All Members ($149 Value for My Selections):
So here’s where we start getting into things that you can customize! Select Members always get early access, so if you wait too long, you run the risk that by the time you go in to customize something might have been fully claimed; but typically when you go in you get to choose between 3-4 items, across about three categories/sections. And if you’re quick enough, you can even add a second item in that category for only $10 more!
First Category ($75 Value). Here I had the choice between a floral robe, a cute backpack, and a mini aromatherapy diffuser. I chose the Deux Lux Demi Backpack (a $75 value); “Keep your belongings safe and snug in the cutest canvas backpack. It features adjustable straps, a top handle, and a post-closure – making it the perfect bag for all of your spring travels.” The size of the backpack is perfect for something like a day at the park where I’d need some snacks, sunscreen, and a change of clothes for the girls. I ALSO added on the Diffuser for an additional $10. It’s tiny, and perfect for my desk! I haven’t tried aromatherapy yet, so I figured for $10, why not! It also came with a bottle of orange oil to use.
Second Category ($55 Value). I had the choice between two different pairs of sunglasses, a picnic set, or a vitamin c sleeping facial. I went with the Quay Austrailia My Girl sunglasses in black (a $55 value); “With black hardware, chic metal accents, and an oversized frame, these cat-eye sunnies can be rocked by any gal”. They’re bigger than I normally go, but I’m warming up to them… The case they came in is nice – magnetic closure at the top!
Third Category ($19 value). Here I had the choice between a set of copper measuring spoons, a body lotion, or a mystery item (could be literally anything). I went with the Lavido Aromatic Body Lotion (a $19 value); “Hydrate, nourish, and protect. This deliciously scented citrus body lotion is dermatologically tested and formulated for all skin types.” This smells YUMMY and left me feeling refreshed, but not slathered in lotion – so I’m really happy with it so far!
Select Members ($37.99 Value for My Selections):
“Only Select Members get to customize these options in their box. Otherwise, these items were randomly selected for your box”. -FabFitFun
First Category ($19.99 value). I had the choice between a necklace, a make-up setting powder, or a S’Well water bottle. I went with the S’well water bottle (a $19.99 value) and was lucky enough to get my favorite color – PINK!
Second Category ($18 value). I had the choice between a face cleanser, a detox dry brush, or a jump rope. I went with the Daily Concepts Daily Detox Brush (a $18 value); “Your body needs TLC too. Exfoliate laters of dead skin and stimulate circulation with the brush’s natural bristles and massaging nodules”. I tried this before my shower, and while it was a bit rough, I have a feeling this is going to help with dry skin. I’ll check back in on this one, too!
So Is FabFitFun Worth It?
If you look at just the monetary value alone, YES the FabFitFun box is worth it! I got $278.99 worth of stuff, for $45 (my annual membership / four)! Did I decide to renew? HELL YES. I am not someone who is constantly out shopping for myself; if I’m spending money it’s usually on my kids. So to have a box of goodies arrive once a season, of stuff that’s JUST FOR ME? It’s a beautiful, self-care gift to myself. I get to feel pampered, and usually there are one or two products in my box that I end up buying again on my own, because I’ve adopted them into my routine! And if I get something I don’t want? I look like a hero when I gift it to someone else!
So if you’ve been thinking about testing it out, go treat yourself girl! Try ONE BOX, for only $39.99 when you use my link to sign-up (a $10 savings!). I promise, you won’t regret it!
